Yesterday and Today.
This joint sums up my life right now for real. There's gotta be a better way to this life shit. I have 2 years left in college and I'm working towards my music, but I know the money isn't gonna come fast at all. Maybe that's part of life, the challenges that come with striving for the better..cause shit if it's really mo money, mo problems than it can't be any worse than this shit lol
I ain't stressin like I used to tho..cause like the song says "Today I feel brand new, I got nothing to lose, get out my way MOVE". The world will know my name...

Attitude Scarred by this Inner City Urban.
Baltimore is a crazy place to live...yesterday was ok studio wise but because of a scheduling conflict we had to break the session up into parts...i'm going back friday to finish up some songs too.
On the real tho, fuck the gayness of Baltimore. No offense to gay people but all those fucking homo guy prostitutes walking up and down the street at night dressed up as girls is hella gay and should not exist, at all, ever..and then you got these "ballin" thugnificent lookin ass niggas pickin em up in BMWs n shit..man I don't need to see that shit..and what made the night even worse when we were leaving the studio walking to the car seeing that shit, my nigga's car wasn't even there! Shit got towed!
And more L's the girl I was talking to ended up bluffin on us going to the movies..i'mma (try to) stay positive tho about everything, not just this but music and my life in general because life goes on..so it is what it is. And i'm sick of being negative about life, 4 real.
Song for the day is Donwill - Laura's Song

Cut Thru My Heart.
Man, I was ready to simply post R.I.P. ipod (2006-2009) but thru the miracle of my own perseverance I was able to start it up again & now I'm backing up all my music...It would have been a devastating blow to lose all the shit I've had throughout the years...
I've been gone for a few days, had to sell the SP 404 (god I'mma miss it) but I need the money for studio time, among other things...I'm about to come back hard as ever so if you are truly a fan of mine, stay tuned..

Next week is really gonna be good for me tho...finally got this girl I been trying to get at to go on a date with me...we'll see how that turns out...

And it's that weird...
Man, these past few months have been weird, even by my terms....
I've mainly kept to myself because of the bullshit the last girl put me thru...this let me focus more on my music, (and I will say this music is on some other shit, not even to be conceited), and I put myself into that box...where everything is comfortable and I could give a fuck less about anyone else but myself...
But lately...I've been gettin feelings for this new girl...everything's perfect about her, she's beautiful, intelligent AND classy...perfection in my eyes...but I don't know how to read how she feels about me...yea it's that stupid shit, I feel like we could be so much more but on the other hand I don't want to force something that's not there....fuck it.
Anyway, tomorrow my nigga 810 is dropping his new tape "SUPPLY AND DEMAND" and trust me when I say this ya'll, IT'S HOT. I've had the pleasure of listening to it for the last two months and even in it's unfinished glory it's damn near that C word....yup, that C word....I'mma have the exclusive links on my page as soon as it's available ya'll. Baltimore and the world need to get ready for this real shit that's comin....because for real '09 may as just as well be the year of the emergence of The Black Sunn and 810...
Song for the day is Kid Cudi - Day And Night (I been bumpin this shit since last summer, it's ill)

In Pursuit...Side Portrait
In my pursuit of happiness, I have noticed that life is strange. Rarely do we directly achieve this "happiness" without a great sacrifice...but I'll get to that one another day. The other angle to this life that is really strange to me is how we as people can become so complacent in our own methods that we seldom step outside of the box to achieve what would be perceived happiness. I can't describe why we don't break these walls down...personally...
I can attest to it...as far as "love". I've been so scarred from "love" & what I've thought was "love" that I've taken a break from relationships in general. It has been a while since I've held a meaningful one, and I have become complacent in being self dependent. But I do realize that on a profound level I'm starting to get lonely...my idea of perfection , my high standards, all of that...maybe they're just walls that I need to break down, you know?
But fuck it...life is strange. What's needed to overcome that is perseverance. I see each step as my evolution...I'm staying true to my goals, but becoming a all around better person able to cope with the curve balls that life throws, so it is all for the better. I know that If I continue in this pursuit I shall succeed..not just with finding that perfect girl but with music & money & every other thing in this world we live in. I gotta break down my own walls...
So you get a side portrait of a man on a mission...

Back From The Dead Again...It's '09
It's been 3 months since i posted anything at all up here...been thru a lot, including school, bitches & the like. That's how life is tho, so I don't sweat it. I've been doing a lot of thinking, building, working towards this music, etc etc and it's been so much so that I think I need to give my mind a break. I usually dumb down through video games, but seeing as I've been playing the genesis (& every sonic game you can think of) a little too much, I believe I needed to vent thru my writings again. Well, express or whatever.
I can't believe time is going by so fast...it was just yesterday I was in 7th grade debating with my friends who won between NaS & Jay-Z...now we're focused strictly on our own music and getting the hell outta Baltimore...it's not that I don't love this city, but to be anything in this game we gotta expand. My life goal anyway is to have a villa in costa rica or some nice tropical place, where I can just chill with my chick & live life like it's suppose to be...but reality is reality. So for now I'm focused on the practical, this degree & my music. I will not fail at either. To do shows, tours for like 6 months straight, have love & support, & all of it from doing something I love? Expressing my heart & soul through this medium? It's a goal, and one that I will prevail in. But ya'll don't hear me tho..
Theme for today is Charles Hamilton's Loser.
I'll be back once again folks.

Blank Page

Sometimes I open a blank window browser and stare at it. I don't know what it is but the emptiness of the blank page seems to comfort me in a way that other things can't...
I also stare into the night sky...and I try to count the stars & imagine the different worlds out there...I can't explain the yearning inside of me but I want to escape from this place..this life.
I can't say if I'm "depressed", I'm definitely not suicidal, but I just don't think this existence is worth anything...we learn these different lessons that we apply to life, but life seems to be inherently imbalanced. What's the point?
I just feel that there has to be a greater meaning to all this...and I spent much time in thought contemplating these outcomes and I'm TIRED...I'm tired of thinking about it
The emptiness provides just as much comfort as the many, numerous answers I or anyone else try to come up with...
A blank page...maybe its better than all this.....
*sidenote I'd hate to play for the Arizona Cardinals...they have quite possibly the WORST fanbase in the NFL...*

Return from the Drought

Peace Ya'll
I'm back from my long hiatus...been dealing with a lot of stress (school, women, you know the usual) so I haven't really had the urge to sit down and type my thoughts out on this blog, but I decided today was the day.
I think a lot. Those who know me personally can attest to that fact. I also realize that as much as I used to try to change the way other people think and open them up to the realities that I now envision, that is almost entirely impossible at this stage in my life. I am 19 years old, (turned Sept. 10), and it still strikes me odd when people bash Hip Hop. I thought we came far from where we used to be, but I can understand their malcontent for the art form. What "Hip Hop" today is nothing but a popularity contest between super ego caricatures about who has the most "swagger", the most money, the most "bitches" whatever it may be...
Music is the least of my worries, in fact I no longer indulge in other people's opinions of music, at least to the degree that I used to. I just listen to whatever I listen to and enjoy it. My problem used to be caring what other people thought of my thoughts. It's a problem I still have and that is taking discipline to remove...thought I know it's human nature to do so, I realize there are just so many more important things in this world to worry about...family being number one.
On to another topic though...another day, another trek through this thing we call life...I seriously believe that I may be depressed. Why? Just because I think too much...I've thought about almost every outcome of my life and I just don't see the point of college...my true passion lies in music, and music that is on it's "disco deathbed" at that...not to mention the way the country is headed, imma need money to get me through the tough times...so I have to get that "piece of paper" that will allow me to make a lot of "pieces of paper" if you follow me...it's all a race to nothingness.
I guess what I can sum this post up as is that this past month and a half I have been at odds with the very fabric of "self". Trying to really get in touch with who I am and what I am here for. Can't say I'm any closer, but at least you know where my head is at.
More to come...

You Have To Cherish Every Moment Of Life...
Haven't posted in a minute, but a lot has gone down...we've lost two legends to death. I just wanted to dedicate this post to Bernie Mac & Isaac Hayes, their influence will never be forgotten. They both left legacies that we all cherish and will remember for the rest of our lives...
Bernie was a comedic genius. Isaac musically left a legacy that, without it, Hip Hop wouldn't be the way it is today. The world will greatly mourn the loss of these two...

The Past is Relevant...Understand
I was having a conversation with a friend about Hip Hop, specifically about Lyricism. He was explaining to me how Saigon was one of the best to ever bless the mic. I agreed with him but stated that Saigon, and in turn any lyricist that ever decides to include any complex wordplay (metaphors, multisyllabic rhymes, etc) owes it to Rakim, the greatest to ever touch a microphone. This is where the problem began.
He told me that this is wrong, and that in turn Rakim did not influence Saigon. In fact Rakim did not bring anything new to the table that was not already there (citing Nas' "No Idea's Original") and that in turn Rakim is irrelevant. This is wrong people.
While it is true that the ideas themselves (metaphors, multisyllabic rhymes, etc) are not anything new whatsoever, the fact that Rakim brought them to the artform of Hip Hop WAS new when he came onto the scene. He essentially created the form of Hip Hop that is THE MOST RESPECTED.
Back to this idea that Rakim is irrelevant. He said this because he stated that "the past is irrelevant". How is this so? The past has created the present reality we live in and combines with it to influence the future as we speak. We must respect and learn from the past or we're doomed to repeat the mistakes made in the past. It's simple, there's nothing complex to it. Everything around us, from buildings, houses, music, television, etc has been created by dead people or to be more correct people in the past. The damn language we use is influenced by the past & our history. You are entitled to like or dislike anything, that is your prerogative as a human being, but to label the past as irrelevant is as backwards as the word itself. Especially when the art form YOU love was created by the man you are calling irrelevant.
He created political songs to express the views of many people, he took his craft from his basement and made a name for himself, he created new ways to lyrically brag about yourself, HE IS HIP HOP. And yes, because he brought these different things to the forefront at a time when NO ONE was doing it, he is the greatest. No one has done it better than him, like him yes (see NaS) but greater than him? Nah.
Next time you wanna say "No Idea's Original" finish what NaS said and understand it. "No Idea's Original, there's nothing new under the sun, IT'S NEVER WHAT YOU DO BUT HOW IT'S DONE." Real talk. It's never what you do, but how it's done. Rakim created the blueprint and did it so good no one has created one that's better yet. That alone proves the past is completely relevant today. Ya dig?

Dedicated To All The Women I Ever Messed With...
Universal dance, a vivid play with words in ya brain,
You're enticed into a trance.
Put the dream on hold, a just expression of your soul,
But it's a real being that we'll never know
Truth is, you're mind is a metaphor
I want to like but it is...
A being that spews rhetoric, you feign delicate,
With malicious intent, ARE YOU REALLY HEAVEN SENT?
Are you...the answer?...are you my companion?...
Why did you abandon?
I spew abrasive statements, I despise apparent fakeness...
Words deep...Maybe I'm cryptic
But I speak real shit...As real as cold steel gripped, ripped from the hip, aimed steady and intent...to crush the flesh wicked, you need common sense...think about it...
Or a cruel miscarriage...the culmination of our life's plans, destroyed...i will never understand...
Before I perish, my essence beneath the earth's sands,
And the words I speak, dissipate with my breath
I want to inherit, your knowledge & your reasoning,
I want to resurrect what little love's left
Just to give me a feeling..like you really still care
But maybe my pleas are falling on deaf ears...
*Don't mean to offend anyone in particular...jst felt like writing...'s why I didn't tag anyone...leave a comment if you want...and if you really get what I'm saying*

Isn't Life Ironic??
Life is ironic...the way we interact with one another sets us up for success and yet failure within the same breath. I'm saying this because relationships, when formed genuinely, are for the mutual benefit of both involved...but shit happens. That relationship might end, and just as you were prosperous, you find yourself right back to square one.
That's the irony of life...that something that was built to be SO GOOD...can end SO WRONG...but like it's said, "If it was meant to be, then it will be". One day that good thing will come back. I didn't used to believe in this, but as of late I just may be a believer now. Old friendships, relationships, connects...everything is possible within this life...I just gotta have trust & faith. (Fuck hope, that's wishful thinking that implies doubt..you just gotta believe ya know?)
So yea...this blog is dedicated to second chances...anything can happen...shit, I might contradict past statements for the simple fact I WANT THAT OL' THING BACK...haha
By the way...Brown Sugar is a fucking great movie.

Close Edge
You know, the only way to start this post is to begin with the setting that I currently find myself in... I'm sitting in my room at 1:31 AM in the morning on what was a Friday night, completely wasted (Nah not literally). It seems that I find myself here more than I would like, but I try not to focus on the negative. The negative seems to always find its way to the surface, whether you like it or not. Maybe it's something to do with my soul, a flaw or something, but like I said I try to focus on the positive.
So I'm sitting here thinking about the show that I was watching earlier, Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It was an episode where the group & Carl decide to deep fry a cow in a huge deep fryer (I know, silly as shit). After they deep fry the cow, Master Shake leaves the vat of oil in the middle of their damn lawn, and Frylock yells at him to get rid of the thing. So after trying to put it off on Carl, they both find a solution: dumping it irresponsibly in the forest. This part struck me for one reason, and one reason only. The oil stood out to me as a metaphor for the way I always seem to approach life even though I hate to admit it. I always claim to be up to huge tasks, but I find either shortcuts to get them done or I cop out with a bullshit excuse...and it's driving me crazy. Why do these lazy patterns seem to fuck up my life? I have dedication but...sometimes I lack motivation, just like Shake lacked the motivation to get that shit out of his lawn lol...
And that's why I'm fucking blogging at 1 AM in the morning about nothing really. I really think I'm on the close edge from collapsing into insanity...Only time will tell...
