Done w/ It.

For real, I'm done reaching out to stuck up people. Here's a newsflash: The world does not revolve around you!!! You are not that important that you can't take the time to even reply to a message that was sent to you...If you were, more people would know your name. Get off your high horse and be real with yourself...and I reply to everyone who hits me up and if I don't it's because I felt it was spam...

...Just had to vent that...

Anyways, I can't wait until Wed. because I'm gonna be in the studio all day finishing up some very important stuff...I'mma say it now May 22nd, be on the lookout for my next tape...

Song for the day is Little Brother - For You

Some Observations

Just some things I've thought about lately...don't really feel like elaborating on them but I may later...

Real niggas never change...they stay true to who they are and what they have always been deep down inside...

Real niggas don't put on fronts ever...and they surely don't use niggas...if you have to change the way you act around a person, you aren't real, you're an illusion created to achieve an agenda

There are more fake niggas than real niggas...& like I said they put on fronts daily...they have more masks than a fucking shaman...and they do whatever they can to reach their agenda, whatever it is...they don't give a fuck about you so don't give a fuck about them

I stay on the low chillin because of this...don't wanna stress myself fuckin with fake ass niggas

I can never be anything less than real, being fake just isn't in my nature and I know that & the real niggas I fuck with know that, & that's what counts...why would I care about the opinion of a fake person?

I have respect for all real women...with that said bitches ain't shit...it's common sense, I don't have to elaborate on it

Observe someone before you begin to fuck with them...friendships, relationships, anything. Don't fall in love with the idea of what you believe the person is...because chances are that they will end up being something completely different

Also ladies please stop complaining about how you hate boys & how men always do you wrong & all this other nonsense...if you adhere to what I'm sayin above you will never have those problems...if you keep attracting "boys" and other small minded people then you gotta do some soul searching because it isn't them that's wrong.....

I will never apologize for who I am or what I do...ever.

The way you are today comes from the way you were raised...so if you a HO you know you a ho & you know why you are a ho...don't front like you this special down to earth girl when you fuck every nigga you see...haha

That's it for now

The Past is Relevant...Understand

I was having a conversation with a friend about Hip Hop, specifically about Lyricism. He was explaining to me how Saigon was one of the best to ever bless the mic. I agreed with him but stated that Saigon, and in turn any lyricist that ever decides to include any complex wordplay (metaphors, multisyllabic rhymes, etc) owes it to Rakim, the greatest to ever touch a microphone. This is where the problem began.

He told me that this is wrong, and that in turn Rakim did not influence Saigon. In fact Rakim did not bring anything new to the table that was not already there (citing Nas' "No Idea's Original") and that in turn Rakim is irrelevant. This is wrong people.

While it is true that the ideas themselves (metaphors, multisyllabic rhymes, etc) are not anything new whatsoever, the fact that Rakim brought them to the artform of Hip Hop WAS new when he came onto the scene. He essentially created the form of Hip Hop that is THE MOST RESPECTED.

Back to this idea that Rakim is irrelevant. He said this because he stated that "the past is irrelevant". How is this so? The past has created the present reality we live in and combines with it to influence the future as we speak. We must respect and learn from the past or we're doomed to repeat the mistakes made in the past. It's simple, there's nothing complex to it. Everything around us, from buildings, houses, music, television, etc has been created by dead people or to be more correct people in the past. The damn language we use is influenced by the past & our history. You are entitled to like or dislike anything, that is your prerogative as a human being, but to label the past as irrelevant is as backwards as the word itself. Especially when the art form YOU love was created by the man you are calling irrelevant.

He created political songs to express the views of many people, he took his craft from his basement and made a name for himself, he created new ways to lyrically brag about yourself, HE IS HIP HOP. And yes, because he brought these different things to the forefront at a time when NO ONE was doing it, he is the greatest. No one has done it better than him, like him yes (see NaS) but greater than him? Nah.

Next time you wanna say "No Idea's Original" finish what NaS said and understand it. "No Idea's Original, there's nothing new under the sun, IT'S NEVER WHAT YOU DO BUT HOW IT'S DONE." Real talk. It's never what you do, but how it's done. Rakim created the blueprint and did it so good no one has created one that's better yet. That alone proves the past is completely relevant today. Ya dig?
